33-yr-old man found bludgeoned to death
tnn | Jan 7, 2019, 00:20 ISTCoimbatore: A 33-year-old man was found dead with his head smashed near Muniyappan temple at Pappanaickenpalayam in Thadagam on Sunday.
Police identified the deceased as G Anandakumar, 33, of Pappanaickenpalayam. “He was an earthmover driver. Residents had spotted him with another person in an inebriated condition near the temple around 10.30am on Sunday morning,” a police officer said. “But by 11.30am, his body was found on the other side of the temple with injuries.”
When alerted, the Thadagm police pressed a sniffer dog and forensic experts into service. “We have found a stone used to kill Anandakumar,” the officer said, adding, “We are yet to identify the another man and the motive behind the murder.”
The body was sent to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. Police have formed a special team to nab the murderer. tnn
