ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Pope Francis used his address marking the Feast of Epiphany on Sunday to call for European leaders to find a safe port for tens of migrants stranded in the Mediterranean Sea.
The comments brought him into a political fraces between Italy and Malta over the fate of 49 migrants on two blocked humanitarian rescue ships.
Last week, nearly two dozen humanitarian groups, including Amnesty International and the United Nations' International Organization for Migration, called on the European Union to offer a safe port to both vessels.
