PATNA: CPI (ML) state secretary Kunal on Sunday demanded arrest of conspirators behind the recent lynching of Kabul Mian (60) near Simarbanni village under Sikti block in Araria district. Kabul was beaten to death for allegedly stealing cattle.

Demanding a high-level inquiry into the incident, Kumar alleged people hell-bent on creating communal unrest in the state in the run up to Lok Sabha election were behind the lynching of Kabul.

He said a two-member committee of the CPI (ML) comprising Ram Vilas Yadav and Indran Paswan conducted an on-spot probe into the incident and also visited the Kabul’s native village Dahagaon. “The team also met Muslim Mian of Simarbanni village whose cow Kabul had allegedly stolen. The probe revealed that Kabul had criminal antecedents,” Kunal added.
