PROVIDENCE -- The Providence Bruins jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first period and never looked back on the way to a 5-1 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Sunday afternoon.


 


Peter Cehlarik scored twice, Jordan Szwarz had a goal and an assist and Kyle Cumiskey and Cameron Hughes had two assists each for the P-Bruins, who outshot Hartford, 37-16.

PROVIDENCE -- The Providence Bruins jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first period and never looked back on the way to a 5-1 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Sunday afternoon.

 

Peter Cehlarik scored twice, Jordan Szwarz had a goal and an assist and Kyle Cumiskey and Cameron Hughes had two assists each for the P-Bruins, who outshot Hartford, 37-16.

 

Szwarz opened the scoring at 13:43 of the first period, stuffing the puck past Marek Mazanec (32 saves).

 

Cehlarik put Providence up by two with a power-play goal with four seconds left in the first period. He took a pass from Cumiskey and fired a wrister past Mazanec.

 

After a scoreless second period, Emil Johansson made it 3-0 with a shorthanded goal at 9:12 of the third period. The P-Bruins broke into the Wolf Pack zone on a three on one, and Johansson took a pass from Karson Kuhlman and beat Mazanec.

 

Cehlarik scored his second of the game at 11:44, assisted by Wiley Sherman, and Gemel Smith scored an empty net goal at 15:35 to make it 5-0.

 

Cole Schneider scored Hartford's only goal with 2:21 left in the game.

 

Providence goalie Zane McIntyre stopped 15 shots.

 

The P-Bruins host the Wolf Pack again on Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
