Indore: Panic struck in Bhagirathpura area when anti-social elements set four vehicles including two cars on fire in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. Two persons were arrested by police in this connection and they are being questioned further.
Investigating officer Dinesh Tripathi said first incident took place near Bhagirathpura Bridge around 1 am. The car of Kamal Khinchi was set on fire by the accused. Two persons were seen fleeing the spot after the incident by the local residents. After few minutes, another car belonging to Satish in next lane was set ablaze by the accused. The people of area saw cars in flames and rushed to spot to douse it. Before people could understand about the incident, two scooters in the next lane were also set on fire by the same accused.
Tripathi said two persons were seen by people. The investigation started on basis of information collected from the spot. Two persons were arrested by police who later confessed their crime.
Accused identified as Gyanprakash and Gourav of Bhagirathpura told police that they were in inebriated state because of which they set four vehicles on fire to terrify people of the area. The police are collecting information about their past criminal record.
