Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has asked party workers not to be provoked by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
“The RSS is unleashing violence in the State in a planned manner. It is behind the violence in Kannur district,” Mr. Balakrishnan told a press conference here on Saturday. Lashing out at the RSS, Mr. Balakrishnan said the CPI(M) did not believe in retaliation and the party workers were only resisting it. The workers would not be mute spectators to the violence and the RSS should not think that the CPI(M) could be destroyed.
The police were maintaining remarkable restraint and it should not be misinterpreted. The CPI(M) leader urged the government to take action against those police officers influenced by the RSS.
