The Uttar Pradesh policeman gained fame recently for yelling 'thain thain' to mimic gunfire sounds to scare criminals when his pistol got jammed during an encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal on October 12.
In another encounter on Friday (January 4), the famous cop Sub Inspector Manoj Kumar was hit by a bullet in an exchange of fire between the police and criminals in Sambhal.
Kumar sustained bullet injuries on his hand and is currently admitted in a hospital.

The encounter broke out in Asmoli police limits when two bike-borne assailants, a wanted criminal and his accomplice, fired at the police, Sambhal Superintendent of Police Yamuna Prasad said.
One of the criminals also sustained bullet injuries in the gunfight, while the other managed to flee the spot, the SP said.

Manoj Kumar became an internet sensation last year when the video of him yelling 'maro maro' and 'thain thain' during a live encounter went viral. The incident caused major embarrassment for the UP Police at first. Later, the Sambhal SP wrote a letter to UP Director General of Police (DGP) recommending Kumar to be honoured for bravery awards, according to reports.
