Kolkata: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is noted for her drop shot in politics, which has caught many an opponent fidgeting on the front foot. So, while the famed drop shot was not seen, yet her repertoire of half and full volleys were on display when she took out time from her busy schedule to play badminton.
Banerjee posted the video of herself having a good time on social media. “We love sports. A token game in a village,” she wrote in the post. The video explains why she has such a slender constitution: she never missed a step as she returned shots with perfect timing.
This is not the first time Banerjee has showcased her range of talent. A poem written by her is going to be included in the school syllabus of West Bengal. A painting made by her hangs in the Rashtrapati Bhawan. She sold 300 of her paintings for Rs 9 crore, informs India Today.com.
She has composed a puja album, says the portal. The album titled ‘Roudrachaya’ (Light and Shade) consists of seven songs which are all composed and penned by her. She had composed the theme song for a popular Kolkata Durga puja function last year. A video of Banerjee playing the accordion in Frankfurt also went viral last year. She was playing the tune for the song “Hum honge kamyab” along with a man dressed as Mickey Mouse.
