As Geoff Lawson writes here we are no closer to settling on the top six for The Ashes.
Australia v India SCG Test Live: Australia collapsing, four down
Top six woes continue
India moving in for kill
Australia's batting after lunch has been ordinary. Labuschagne batted well in his first effort at No.3 before clipping a straight ball off his legs in the air to Rahane who took a fine catch. If you want to see what Marsh's shot was like, just wander down the local park and you will see a similar one in the first half hour while Harris showed he lacks the capacity to concentrate for long enough. India has bowled with discipline and the freedom that comes when you have 622 runs on the board.
Australia 4-156, 54 overs. Head 3 not out (13b) Handscomb 1 not out (8b)
OUT!! Labuschagne flicks Shami straight to Rahane in front of square leg
Great catch from Rahane and Labuschagne is out for 38. Solid knock but Aussies could not afford to lose him.
Australia 4-152, 51 overs. Head 0 not out (11b) Handscomb 0 (0)
Shaun Marsh horror run continues
The number four batsman has failed to reach 10 in 10 of his past 16 knocks. He has made 50 once in that time. He needs to go back to Sheffield Shield (if it was on) to find form. How much longer can the faith be kept?
Australia 3-148, 50 overs. Labuschagne 34 not out (89b) Head 0 not out (5b)
Disappointing from Marsh, again
That headline is another Marsh cliche. So disappointing from Marsh. Jadeja just got one to bounce and Marsh prodded forward, nicked it and Rahane took the catch at first slip. It was the shot of a tailender.
Australia 3-148, 50 overs. Labuschagne 34 not out (89b) Head 0 not out (5b)
OUT!!! Marsh fails. Gone for 8.
Two cover drives for four followed by Shaun Marsh dismissal. Jadeja has two. Big blow for Aussies. Marsh is not getting the job done. Lazy shot.
Shaun Marsh is beautiful to watch
That headline has become a cliche but we continue to write it when Shaun Marsh is batting. Again he has begun his innings with two striking cover drives for four off Jadeja. Just leans on the ball and smacks it to the boundary.
Australia 2-136, 47 overs. Labuschagne 22 not out (79b) Marsh 8 not out (12b)
Shaun Marsh strides to the crease
Shaun Marsh has a chance, again. Made a 100 at same test last year.
Australia 2-128, 44 overs. Labuschagne 22 not out (73b) Marsh 0 (0)
Harris has a flaw
Harris looks a good player but he puts his wicket at risk when he gets tied down. Jadeja bowled five successive dot balls and it was obvious Harris was becoming frustrated. It's as though he refuses to play out maidens. That is a century gone begging. He will be kicking himself. Good bowling from Jadeja. India's ability to concentrate miles better than Australia in all aspects.
OUT!!! Harris chops on for 79
Harris misses out on the chance to score his maiden ton. Jadeja tied him down for five balls in succession and Harris tried to cut. Frustrating but highest score.
