Leaked copies of written complaints filed by two women colleagues of Genpact against their AVP Swaroop Raj are doing rounds in the social media. Swaroop ended his life after the women raised allegations of sexual harassment against him.
The complaints were allegedly leaked on the social network Quora. But, the uploader took it off immediately after posting it.
However, one user managed to take screenshots of the first pages of both the complaints and later uploaded them on Twitter.
A screenshot of the complaint narrates the incident in detail.
The complaint revealed that three days before the death and suspension of the deceased, he was present at an official party at a lounge in Sector 18, attended by at least 29 people from the company, including one of the complainants.
In detail
“Swaroop offered to go home together in my car since his apartment building is in the same sector (Sector 137). We left at about 11.25 p.m. and I was comfortable sharing the ride with him since we have interacted socially before. While in the car, he started touching me inappropriately and saying things that started to make me very uncomfortable,” the complaint read.
The complaint further revealed that when the woman became uncomfortable, she tried texting and calling one of her colleague who was waiting for her at home and made her hear the obscene conversation the deceased was having with her.
It further read that the deceased went on with the complainant to her apartment where he also met the friend who was allegedly the second complainant against him. In her complaint she explained that Swaroop walked her friend who was drunk up to the apartment and allegedly forced his stay with the two women while she kept asking him to leave.
‘Leaked copy real’
“It was horrifying to have somebody in the house, who is not willing to leave even after asked so many times,” read the second complaint.
Muneesh Chauhan, investigation officer of the case and the Station House Officer at Surajpur said that the contents of the complaint circulating on the social media are authentic as one of the company officials had reportedly leaked the emails.
“We are investigating the claims made in the complaint by scanning the CCTV footages at the club where the party was organised. We are also checking the cameras that were installed at the society where the complainant lived. We cannot arrive at a conclusion as we are yet to record statements of the two women colleagues and other accused in conncetion with Swaroop’s suicide,” said Mr. Chauhan.
He further added that there were 29 officials from Genpact who attended the party, out of whom five have been questioned so far.
“The other officials, including the two female colleagues, were told to go on leave by the company,” Mr. Chauhan added.
Meanwhile, Pranav, a relative of the deceased said that they are not happy with the police investigation as it seems to be slow.
“We are not happy that someone leaked the content of the complaint. We will not comment on whether the allegations made against Swaroop are true or not as we want the police to find the truth,” he added.
