100-ft. national flags at Hyd., Kacheguda stations too

After Secunderabad, it is now Kacheguda and Hyderabad railway stations which have become the second and third railway stations on the South Central Railway (SCR) to hoist a gigantic tricolour on a 100 feet tall pole in the circulating area of the main entrance.

The flag is an attempt of railways to rekindle the spirit of nationalism and instil a sense of pride among rail passengers.

The flag at Kacheguda was hoisted by senior most pointsman R. Ramchander and gangmate from Gang No. 2 A. Venkatesh Narayana in the presence of DRM Arun Kumar Jain and other senior officials.

The flag at Hyderabad was hoisted by senior technician Ashok Madhav Rao in the presence of DRM Amit Vardan and other senior officials.

The Railway Board has directed that National Flags be hoisted at all the ‘A1’ category railway stations on Indian Railways, acting upon which SCR has taken the initiative, a press release informed.
