Students can take part in Science Fair

PUNE: School students across the state will get a chance to participate in Gandhi Science Fair scheduled to be held in Wardha in February. The fair has organised on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary year of Mahatma Gandhi. 

The students need to send their entries for a poster competition by January 30 and those selected will be able to participate in the fair in Wardha.

“Along with his huge contribution to India’s freedom movement, Mahatma Gandhi also strived to create an equal society. He experimented to see to it how the appliances used by the working class labour and the farmers could be made more convenient and efficient. He also inspired many to make use of new techniques and technologies to take up new projects,” Vinay RR, fair’s convener, said.

The fair will have discussions on several issues that need scientific solutions in today’s world. 

There will be exhibitions, cultural programmes supporting the cause. Scientists, social workers, youth, students, etc. will be a part of the fair.

The students need to find out information about a scientist working in any field, and their experiments, and present it in the form of posters. The posters need to have photograph of the scientist, the photo of his/her inventions, and brief information about both.
