Former television executive Peter Mukerjea’s friend told a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Thursday that Peter was not happy with his son Rahul’s relationship with his wife’s daughter, Sheena.
The friend, an MBA graduate, is a former employee of INX Media, which was owned by Peter and mostly run by his wife. He quit INX Media in 2009, two years after he was shifted there from INX Services, where he worked for seven years from 2000 to 2007.
A special public prosecutor appointed by the CBI was questioning him and he said he had visited the Mukerjeas’ residence in Worli several times and that Indrani had introduced Sheena to him as her sister.
He recollected, that in 2008, Indrani and Peter had asked him to accompany them to a place in Khar rented out by Rahul and Sheena. He said, “Indrani wanted to bring Sheena back home and even Peter was not happy with the relationship. They wanted Sheena and Rahul to separate.”
He also said that Peter wanted Rahul to settle down professionally before getting into any relationship. He will be cross-examined by the defence on January 7.
The agency has also cited financial disputes as one of the motives behind Sheena Bora’s murder.
