YouTube personality Salomondrin has released a new video where he talks about his McLaren Senna which recently caught on fire in Los Angeles.

While the clip doesn’t actually show the fire, Salomondrin says he didn’t crash the car and it “just caught on fire.” There’s no word on what caused this to happen, but the YouTuber suggests that an investigation underway.

Regardless of the cause, Salomondrin says he had a blast with the Senna and “driving it was a dream.” He went on to say that he put around 400 miles (643 km) on the car in just 11 days.

Salomondrin doesn’t seem too upset about the incident as he says there was nothing he could do once the Senna caught on fire. He’s just thankful that no one got hurt. Salomondrin went on to say the car was insured, but he doesn’t know if he’ll get another one.

While it’s a bit disappointing that the video doesn’t include footage of the fire, Salomondrin said he managed to take several clips of the incident and they will be released sometime in the near future. Despite the lack of footage, previous pictures have shown the car was extensively damaged in the blaze.

As you may recall, the Senna is a limited production model which is part of McLaren’s Ultimate Series. Billed as the “most extreme road car McLaren has ever built,” the Senna features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS) and 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds before hitting a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h).

Only 500 units will be built and all of them have already been spoken for despite the Senna’s base price of $958,966.
