The 11th edition of Coimbatore Vizha will take off here on Friday and go on till January 12, involving 103 organisations.
Brought together by the CII Yi, the Vizha will have more than 120 events celebrating the city’s heritage, entrepreneurship, cultural diversity, etc. The theme this year is “Impact and Inspire”.
Science expo
Since Coimbatore is known for its entrepreneurship and educational institutions, a Coimbatore Science and Technology Festival will be organised on January 6 and 7 at the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex. As many as 200 functional exhibits by school students and 70 by college students will be on display. Some of the industries will also have experience zones. The aim is to promote innovation, say the organisers.
On the evening of January 6, nearly 30 cultural organisations will organise a parade on Race Course Road. An open quiz will be held on January 12 at the Suguna Auditorium and the Corporation Commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan will be the quiz master.
The art street, which is held every year, will be organised on January 12 and 13 on the Scheme Road in Race Course area. The Coimbatore International Airport will also be part of the Vizha this year.
The inaugural will be on January 4 at the VOC Park ground.
