Tourism policy for Goa would be ready before next tourism season

The minister said that the work of formulating tourism policy is in its final stages and would be finalized by taking all the stakeholders into confidence.

 

Ajgaonkar said that the tourism department is making all efforts to promote Goa’s tourism all over the world.

 

“We are spending money on marketing and promoting Goa’s tourism and also ensuring that there is no misuse of funds,” the minister added.

 

He said that the government expects support of legislators, hoteliers and all stakeholders to promote Goa as a safe and ideal tourist destination.

 

“There are some elements that are making attempts to dent Goa’s tourism. We should also understand that due to slow down in economy all over world, tourism has been affected in other parts also,” Ajgaonkar claimed.

 

The tourism minister also said that the tourism department will issue a notice to OYO Rooms, a hospitality company, for alleged irregularities in the state.
