NAVI MUMBAI: At least four persons were killed while five others were seriously injured when a Mumbai-bound cement-laded truck fell on three vehicles plying on the Pune-bound carriageway near the Adoshi tunnel area on the Mumbai Pune Expressway around 11am on Friday leading to the death of four persons.

The truck fell on a Gujarat registered Toyota Innova MUV, a Maruti Celerio car and a Hyundai Creta. The deceased included three women. The Creta SUV fell into a 20-foot-deep E-way side gorge. The traffic has been stalled on the Pune-bound carriageway.

State highway traffic patrol headquarters superintendent of police Vijay Patil said, “Four persons were killed in the mishap.”

SHTP Borghat unit head constable VB Khairnar said, “A cement-laden truck was moving towards Mumbai on the Mumbai-bound carriageway of the Mumbai Pune Expressway. The truck fell on the Pune-bound carriage way near the Adoshi tunnel area. The truck fell on three vehicles.”
