Class X girl ends life after father scolds her
TNN | Jan 5, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: A girl studying in class X committed suicide by hanging herself to death allegedly after her father scolded her for not paying enough attention to her studies in Surajbag locality near Khoja Naka in Jamnagar on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Ruchi Vasa (16).
Ruchi hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her room using her dupatta. Her father Jai Vasa (46) said in his statement before police that he had scolded Ruchi as she was not showing interest in her studies.
“This had pushed her into depression and ultimately driven her to take the drastic step,” said an official from Jamnagar A division police station.
“Ruchi was already under pressure of preparing for her class X examination. Her father scolding was the last straw she could not bear with,” added the official.
