Letter to the Editor: Make sure children know why we celebrate Christmas

Christmas has come and gone, the credit card payments will have to be paid. It will take you a year to pay them off an then it will start again. I wish you would have told your children it is the day Jesus Christ was born and that is why we celebrate his birthday. Yes, there were Christmas presents under the tree because we taught them to be good all the time and not just during the Christmas season. As they get older they will know that the presents came from parents and grandparents because we love them so much. They bring us so much happiness all year long.

I offer my sympathy to my friend Bob who lost his wife Pat a few days before Christmas. They loved the song "Through the Years" and made it through with such love. When I went to see them last month, they were so happy that I wrote a story about them. When I went to the wake so many people came up to me because Bob told them I was the one that wrote that story about them. They said they wanted to meet that woman who wrote that love story because they posted it on Facebook and sent it to all their friends. So it made me feel good that my opinions are appreciated by so many people.

The president has shut the government down and many people are not getting paid. Well at least he is staying at the White House and not playing golf like he does every weekend in Florida. Let us hope and pray that the president will get impeached. He lies every day. He is fake news.

My candidate for a future president is Vice President Joe Biden. I met him at UMass last year and he is a regular person and he gave me a hug.
