Gold, silver slip in futures trade on muted demand
NEW DELHI: Gold prices slipped in the domestic futures market in Friday's session on low demand of the precious metal by local jewellers.
Silver, too, declined on slightly reduced orders from industrial units and coin makers.
The MCX Gold was trading at Rs 31,763 per 10 grams, down by Rs 26, while MCX Silver was trading Rs 30 lower at Rs 39,471 a kilo around 12:30 pm.
In the global markets, gold erased most of its early gains after touching 6-1/2-month highs on Friday, as Asian equities and the US dollar regained some footing after Beijing announced a new round of trade talks with Washington amid fears of a global economic slowdown, Reuters reported.
