LONDON: A new research has found that Facebook tracks even those Android users who do not use the app. Facebook routinely tracks users, non users and logged out users outside its platform, said the study by UKbased charity Privacy International.
App developers share data with Facebook through the Facebook Software Development Kit, showed the findings. For the study, Privacy International examined 34 apps on Android. The research showed that at least 61% of apps tested automatically transfer data to Facebook the moment a user opens the app. “This happens whether people have a Facebook account or not, or whether they are logged into Facebook or not,” the report said.
