Temple priest sexually abuses woman, held

Representative imageCHENNAI: Police on Thursday arrested a 45-yearold priest at a temple in Minjur for allegedly sexually harassing a woman who approached him for seeking blessings.
On Wednesday evening, a 34-year-old married woman visited the priest, identified as Rajasekar, to seek his blessings and help drive away “evil spirits that possessed her,” police said. The priest told the woman that she needed a special attention and took her to a separate room where he allegedly sexually harassed her.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman, the Minjur all-women police arrested Rajasekar. He was remanded in judicial custody.
