At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (forex), the rupee opened on a firm note at 69.95.
Mumbai: The rupee appreciated by 48 paise against the dollar on Friday, marking its strongest single-session gain in two weeks. The rupee ended at 69.72 against the greenback. Strength across Asian peers on easing of worries about global growth and US-China trade war supported the rupee, however rising crude oil prices limited the upside, say analysts. Friday's rebound in the currency was its strongest since December 20, when it had climbed by 70 paise against the dollar to settle at 69.70.
