Graft accused city surveyor booked in DA case
TNN | Jan 5, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: A case of disproportionate assets (DA) was filed on Friday against a graft accused after he failed to produce documents pertaining to Rs 8.45 lakh found during a raid at his residence in November last year. The case was filed by Devbhoomi Dwarka anti-corruption bureau (ACB) inspector V M Tank.
Morbi ACB had arrested Jayendra Lodaria, a city surveyor, for allegedly accepting Rs 5,000 bribe at Juna Mahajan Chowk near Ghanshyam Chamber in Morbi on November 28 last year. Lodaria had accepted the money from the complainant for registering the name of the buyer who had bought his house.
“After he was arrested in the bribery case, we conducted a raid at Lodaria’s house at Yogi Apartment in Vasant Plot of Morbi town and recovered Rs 8.45 lakh cash and the papers of 13 bank accounts in the names of his family members,” said H P Doshi, Rajkot ACB deputy superintendent of police.
“As the amount was found to be disproportionate to the known source of his income, we filed a DA case against Lodaria,” added Doshi.
