A huntsman spider has met a gruesome end after trying and failing to take on a spider wasp.

In a nail-biting video clip, a huntsman can be seen being dragged up the insect netting of a door by the much smaller spider wasp, in what's thought to be an Australian back garden.

But appearing to admit defeat, the huntsman makes no attempt to escape from the spider wasp’s clutches before it’s then abruptly thrown to the floor.
