One of the most interesting side-plots of ongoing Test series between India and Australia has been the banter between Australian skipper Tim Paine and Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

The conversation between the two men behind the wickets was at its hilarious best during the third Test of the series. During the match, Paine trolled Pant for not being a part of Indian side for the ODI series against Australia. He suggested Pant should remain in Australia after the Test series and play for the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL. He also suggested that Pant may take up the job as babysitter for his kids.

After Paine’s sledge, Pant returned the ‘favour’ by terming Paine ‘temporary captain’ and 'a special guest'.

The on-field banter turned more hilarious as Pant agreed to take a picture with Paine’s wife and kids during an event at Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s residence.

Paine's wife Bonnie Paine shared a picture on Instagram where Pant can be seen holding the Australian skipper's kid with the caption 'best babysitter'.

Paine was asked about the picture and how it all happened. Paine revealed that they opted to go for a quick photograph to make the banter memorable.

“Yeah, that was interesting. We were at the PM’s house yesterday. Just had a quick chat to Rishabh. My wife was happened to be there so we just grabbed a quick photo. He was a good sport and he is on the field to be honest,” Paine said during a press conference.

Paine went on to praise Pant’s sportsmanship spirit and said the chatter between the two has been light-hearted and friendly.

“A fair bit has been made of a little bit of banter between two wicketkeepers, which has been pretty light-hearted and pretty friendly. I enjoy the way he goes about it. I wish I played that way when I was his age. He looks like he has hell of a lot of fun,” Paine added.
