With paltry scores of 2, 44 at the Adelaide Test and 2, 0 at Perth, Indian Team opener KL Rahul hasn't had a dream run with the bat in Australia.

Rahul, who missed the third Test at the MCG owing to his poor form, made his comeback in the playing XI for the fourth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday, replacing Rohit Sharma, who's back home to be with his just-born girl and wife Ritika Sajdeh.

Opening the innings for India on Day 1 of the fourth Test, Rahul appeared out of colour once again and after facing only six deliveries, he made his way back to the pavilion after edging Josh Hazlewood and Shaun Marsh, stationed in the slips, completing an easy catch.

Rahul, who has already faced flak for his efforts with the bat in the series, was subjected to social media trolling once again.

As it turns out, undeterred by recent failures, Rahul was spotted at the nets just hours after his dismissal.

And some fans backed the player.

Despite the early breakthrough, Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara steadied India's ship and put up a score of 116 runs together. At the time of writing this, India is looking solid at 197/3 in 61 overs.
