TN man arrested for sexual assault of 14-year-old daughter

VILLUPURAM: Police on Thursday arrested a 36-year-old daily wage earner at Vallam in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu for allegedly sexually assaulting his 14-year-old daughter for the last three months.
The accused was arrested after a complaint was lodged with the Gingee police by the girl’s mother on Wednesday evening.
A police officer probing the case said the accused, who has three daughters, had not been speaking to his wife for the last six months after a quarrel. The man lived in a portion of the house with his mother while his wife and three daughters were living in another portion.
On September 25 last year, the man’s wife went for work taking their two-year-old daughter with her. Their 14-year-old elder daughter and the second daughter were playing in front of the house. After sending the second daughter to a nearby shop, the man took his elder daughter into the house and allegedly sexually assaulted her.
He allegedly threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone. He had sexually assaulted her several times since then, police said.
The girl informed her mother about the sexual assault as she could not bear the pain when he sexually assaulted her on January 1.
The man was arrested under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the Indian Penal Code.
