Various events to mark Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha jubilee

Nagpur: A series of events have been lined up to celebrate the silver jubilee of Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha which will be inaugurated at Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh at 6.30pm on January 9.
Major general AS Deo (retd) will be the chief guest while lieutenant general (retd) Ravindra Thodge will be the guest of honour.

A portrait of the late colonel Sunil Deshpande, founder of Prahar Military School, made by state award winner Dhananjay Pathak, will be unveiled on the occasion.

Major (retd) Gaurav Arya will deliver a talk on ‘Youth for nation building’.

Addressing a press conference, flying officer (retd) Shivali Deshpande said, “The events have been organized to highlight the soldierly qualities of discipline, courage, vigilance, patriotism and values of life.” Principal Shubha Mohgaonkar, Shama Deshpande and Anil Mahajan were present.

Various competitions, open to all, will commence from January 10.

Obstacle crossing competition has been organized with an aim to imbibe the value of physical and mental strength in young generation.


On the following days, programmes like drama, exhibition depicting achievements of the school, cross-country competition, thrilling demonstration of civil defence techniques, prize distribution of interschool battle model-making competition and a religious discourse on ‘Sant aur sainik’ by Govind Dev Giri Maharaj will be held.


RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will address the gathering on January 17, the concluding day of celebrations.
