More than 6,278 lakh unit power supplied in December
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, For the power sector of the state, the first day of the new year was glorious. At 9.19 am, the demand for power reached 13 thousand 800 MW, which was successfully supplied. There was no outage in the state.
In the Rabi season, demand in 25 days of December was recorded above 13 thousand MW. During this period, the highest demand for electricity was registered at 13 thousand 778 MW on December 27 which was also supplied successfully.
Managing Director of MP Power Management Company Sanjay Kumar Shukla, said that the maximum demand of electricity has increased by 1,538 MW compared to the same period of last year (in a month) in the state. During this period, comparatively 6,278 lakh more units of electricity has been supplied in the state.
The main reason for the increase in electricity demand in the state is the constant and quality supply of power for 10 hours in the agriculture sector. Compared to previous years, irrigated area along with increase in agriculture sector has also increased. Due to strong network and better management in the power sector, today the power companies is supplying power in state at the highest demand successfully.
Power demand rose in December
The maximum demand for electricity in the month of December was 13 thousand 21 MW on December 2, 13 thousand 209 MW on December 3, 13 thousand 430 MW on December 4, 13 thousand 474 MW on December 8, 13 thousand 640 MW on December 24, 13 thousand 642 MW on December 25, 13 thousand 740 on December 26 and maximum demand of 13 thousand 778 MW electricity on December 27.
Supply of 77,165 lakh units of power
In December, 77,165 lakh units of power was supplied in the state, whereas last year in December 2017, 70,887 lakh units of power was supplied. In the current financial year, more than 6,278 lakh units of power was supplied in December compared to the same period last year.
First time 5,454 MW power demand in Paschim Kshetra
A demand of 5 thousand 454 MW power has been registered in this Rabi season in Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (Indore and Ujjain) in December.
In the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (Bhopal, Gwalior), 4 thousand 736 MW and in Purva Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (Jabalpur, Sagar, Rewa) demand of 3 thousand 797 MW has been registered. In all the three power distribution companies, there has been a steady increase in demand for electricity.
