Indore: It’s good news for medical students who want to take specialization in pulmonary diseases as Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College will take over the charge of Government Manorama Raje TB Hospital soon.
At present, administration and management of the hospital is with health department which will hand over the hospital to the medical college and process for the same is being done.
According to Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Pravin Jadia said, “The hospital will be handed over to the medical college administration soon as the proposal has been accepted by the health department officials in Bhopal.”
He said that the college administration had expressed interest to take charge of the hospital for expanding the courses in pulmonary medicine after which the proposal was sent to the department.
“The decision over shifting the staff from health department to medical education department is yet to be taken. We are completing the formalities and the final decision will be taken in few days,” he added. Meanwhile, HoD of Chest and TB Department in MGM Medical College Dr Salil Bhargava said, “A separate hospital for TB Hospital will help the medical college to expand courses in pulmonary medicines and will facilitate patients as well.”
