Tragedy as talented music producer and shark lover, 26, dies free diving with a friend

A talented young music producer has died following a tragic diving accident on New Year’s Day.
Charlie Young, who was an avid free diver and a fan of swimming with sharks, was killed along the Rockingham Wreck Trail, in Western Australia.
The 26-year-old was found unresponsive offshore while he was diving alongside a female friend.

Mr Young was taken to Rockingham General Hospital, and despite attempts by medical staffers at to revive him, he sadly passed away shortly after.
Mr Young, who was the eldest of three sons, was passionate about marine conservation and often took to his social media pages to raise awareness for endangered sharks.
Just a few days before he passed away, Mr Young posted a short video clip to his Instagram page of him diving with scalloped hammerhead sharks.
Alongside the video, he passionately spoke of how the sharks are listed as endangered and urged his followers to care more about sharks.
‘Not expecting to win awards with my shaky footage and iMovie skills but if I can help one person care more about sharks, it's worth it,’ Mr Young signed off his post.

Since his death, tributes have been pouring in from friends who describe Mr Young as a ‘beautiful soul’ and a ‘bright light’ who would be truly missed.
Natalie Anne wrote: ‘I can’t believe this news. Another beautiful soul gone way too soon. Charlie helped me create and release my very first song. I couldn’t have done it without you Charlie.’
Another friend added: ‘This is terrible, he was a wonderful person and a wonderful soul. This is beyond tragic. A huge loss.’

‘Charlie Young died yesterday on January 1st. Way too soon to be taken. This is such a tragic loss for his family and friends. His warm and positive vibes will truly be missed.
‘Charlie was at Rockingham enjoying another of his passions, free-diving, and got into trouble,’ it read.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
