Indore: On the second day of the New Year… the image of road safety was thrown out of the window when a Class V student was killed while his elder brother and father sustained injuries after a recklessly driven schoolbus hit them near Choithram Square on Wednesday. The boy along with father and brother was going to meet his grandmother when the accident happened. The bus driver had fled initially, but was held later.
THE VICTIM Nitesh Parmar, 12, a resident of Rishi Palace Colony. He along with father Hari Parmar and elder brother Santosh was on a bike and were passing through Choiothram Mandi Square when a bus of Choithram School hit their bike from the rear. Nitesh, who was seriously injured, was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. Father Hari and brother Santosh too were injured. Their condition is stated to be out of danger.
THE KILLER Police said the bus driver Yogesh managed to flee but was soon in cop net. The police are investigating whether the bus was being driven within its permitted speed limit. Investigating officer ASI Ajab Singh Yadav said Nitesh’s grandmother is living in Malviya Nagar area of the city and the trio were going to meet her. They were passing from Choithram Square when bus hit them. The bus was going to drop children to school. No children in the bus were injured.
