Hot Rod Lancia Aurelia B20GT Will Make You Go Weak At The Knees

The idea of turning a classic Lancia Aurelia into an ‘Outlaw’ sounds brilliant but once you take a closer look at what Thornley Kelham created, you will definitely go weak at the knees.

Carfection had the chance to drive the gorgeous Lancia Aurelia B20GT ‘Outlaw’, as well as talk with the people behind this unusual project.

Inspired by Giovanni Bracco’s series 1 racing Aurelia, arguably the most famous example of the nameplate, the Outlaw Aurelia features a beautifully modified bodywork that includes a lowered roofline, wider wings and a strengthened chassis.

Under the curvy bonnet lives a V6 from the later Flaminia models, enlarged to 2.8 liters and now featuring fuel injection. Modern brakes and suspension ensure that this jaw-dropping creation drives as good as it looks.

The interior is similarly overhauled, with each car to get a bespoke spec to suit each customer’s exact tastes. There’s a new pedal box, steering column and seats that improve the traditional ‘Italian’ driving position while leather, wood and metal details set the tone inside this lovely cabin.

The specialist also says that all donor cars are basically ‘basket cases’ as descent examples of the Lancia Aurelia remain too valuable to be hacked up. Thornley Kelham will produce just eight Outlaw Aurelias that officially go by the name ‘Fuorilegge’. That’s Italian for Outlaw, in case you were wondering.
