Around 30 residents of Pandarampatti staged a demonstration in front of the Sub-Collector’s office here on Wednesday, demanding revocation of summons issued to an anti-Sterlite protester.
K. Vasanthi, a resident of the village who was active during the protests, was summoned by Sub-Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon under Section 107 of the Cr.P.C. to appear before him at 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, following which she made the appearance.
Several cases had earlier been registered against Ms. Vasanthi in connection with anti-Sterlite protests.
