Gastronomix 2018 held at Agnel Institute of Food Crafts and Culinary Sciences

Agnel Institute of Food Crafts and Culinary Sciences, Nuvem conducted its annual Nestle Gastronomix 2018, a hospitality students cooking, baking and mixology competition. Eight institutes that participated in the competition were VM Salgaoncar Institute  of International Hospitality Education, Raia; Institute Of Advanced Management, Nuvem; Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Curchorem; Deltin Institute of Learning, Salvador Do Mundo; Agnel Vocational Training Institute; Goa College of  Hospitality and Culinary Education; Tata Institute of Social Science and the host Institute.

Judges for the Chef Competition were vice president of Culinary Forum of Goa, chef Sunit; executive chef of Holiday Inn, chef Manjit and corporate chef of Planet Hollywood, Chef Sudharshan. Judges for the Bake Competition were pastry chef at The Leela Beach Resort, chef Pratik; executive chef at Zuri White Sands Resorts, chef Farookh and president of All Goa Bakers & Confectioners Association, Peter Fernandes. Judges for the Bar Competition were beverage manager at LPK, Devi Singh; bar consultant, Akshay Mangekar and F&B consultant, Vernon Vaz.

The winners for the Chef Competition were Baby Gurung and Joyston Fernandes of Agnel Vocational Training Institute; first runners-up were Kovan Braganza and Lenzel Pereira of Agnel Institute of Food Crafts And Culinary Sciences, second runners-up went to Jason Fernandes and Cleny Dias of VM Salgaoncar Institute of International Hospitality Education.

The winners for the Bake Competition were  Sweta Pandey of  VM Salgaoncar Institute of  International Hospitality Education; first  runners-up were  Nella Dias of  Agnel Institute Of Food Crafts And Culinary Sciences, second runners-up  were Melviston Fernandes of Guardian Angel Institute Of Hotel Management  and Catering Technology.

The winners for the Bar Competition were Jayson Cardozo of Agnel Vocational Training Institute, first runners-up were Weljero Mascarenhas of Guardian Angel Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and second runners-up were Sahil Isani of VM Salgaoncar Institute of International Hospitality Education Participants were awarded trophies, certificates and prizes sponsored by Nestle Professional, Mumbai.
