Surat: An offence was registered against a married man for molesting a minor girl at Pandesara police station on Thursday. The accused had also threatened to kill the victim if she complained to police.

The 15-year-old girl, who is a class X student, was crossing BRTS bus stop at Pandesara with her friend when a youth came to her on December 29, 2018. He told her that Dharam Dholiya wanted to talk to her. The girl refused to go with the youth. This angered Dholiya who came there and caught her hand. He began to abuse her and started to drag her to the other side of the road. When the girl and her friend started to shout for help, Dholiya slapped her and fled. Dholiya went to the father of the girl next day and threatened him that he would abduct his daughter and kill her if she complained to police. He has been booked under IPC section and Protection of Children From Sexual Offences Act.

The girl registered a complaint against the accused at Pandesara police station on Wednesday. Police have started a manhunt to nab the accused, who lives near the girl’s house. The accused is a labourer.
