Cape Town - South Africa's Branden Grace has earned his spot in the field for this year's Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.

Players from the top 50 in the world rankings at the end of 2018, who had not already qualified, all secured trips to Augusta.

Grace was one of the 13 golfers in the projected Top 50 who hadn't already qualified for the first Major of 2019, a list that also includes Englishmen Ian Poulter, Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Wallace. 

Grace, who is currently 49th in the world golf rankings, will join fellow South African former Masters champions Charl Schwartzel and Trevor Immelman, world No 25 Louis Oosthuizen and amateur Jovan Rebula at Augusta in April.

Grace finished T24 at last year's Masters, a tournament which saw American Patrick Reed seal the green jacket by one stroke.

Winners of any PGA Tour event between January and April which awards full FedEx Cup points will also earn spots at Augusta.

Players inside the Top 50 in the world golf rankings a week before the Masters will also be added to the prestigious field.

The 2019 Masters gets under way from April 11-14.
