‘Closure of temple unconstitutional’

Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran on Wednesday said the decision of Sabarimala thanthri to close the temple for conducting purification rituals, following the entry of the women was unconstitutional.

The thantri cannot take such decisions without consulting the Devaswom committee, and he will have to give clarifications for his actions to the court and to the committee, Surendran said.
