Bulandshahr violence: Bajrang Dal leader and main accused Yogesh Raj arrested

NEW DELHI: The police on Thursday arrested local Bajrang Dal leader Yogesh Raj who is one of the main accused in the December 3 Bulandshahr violence in which inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was killed by a mob, according to news agency ANI.
The arrest came a day after the police arrested another prime accused Kalua in the case. Kalua was arrested from the city's bus stand and later confessed that he attacked the inspector with an axe.
With Kalua's arrest, the total number of people arrested in the December 3 violence came to 30.
On December 27, police had arrested Prashant Nat, who allegedly shot the inspector dead after the axe attack.
Five people were arrested on December 18 for their alleged roles in the mob violence.
The violence had erupted after cow carcasses were found in a field near Mahaw village in the district. The inspector and youth had died during the violence.
An FIR against 27 named people and 50-60 unidentified people was registered at the Siyana police station for the violence at the Chingrawathi police post.
