Parliamentary panel pulls up RBI, asks to review capital needs for banks

Parliament's standing committee on finance has come down heavily on RBI and has asked it to review the capital adequacy norms for banking sector. The Veerappa Moily headed panel report says that stringent capital adequacy norms for PSBs are unrealistic and unwarranted. The committee, in its report tabled in Parliament, has recommended "that all the offences under this Bill should be made cognisable and non-bailable and the same should be clearly mentioned in the Bill".
