FCA US sold 2.24 million vehicles in 2018, an 8.5 percent gain that was driven by record Jeep and Ram sales.
FCA had its best U.S. retail sales performance since 2001, with 1.76 million deliveries last year. The automaker said fleet sales accounted for 21 percent of its 2018 total.
The year finished strong for the Italian-American automaker.
It moved 196,520 vehicles in December, a 14 percent jump from the year-earlier period. Fleet sales totaled 45,443 autos, making up 23 percent of the month's total.
The Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Compass each set annual sales records that pushed the brand to its best year. Ram also set a full-year record.
