A leopard was captured by the forest department team in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on January 2. The big cat was captured in the Bevli area after being spotted by residents on several occasions since the past few days. Wild animals often tend to come into habituated areas during heavy snowfall. TB Singh, Conservator of Forest, Chenab circle said, ‘The wildlife and forest department intends to capture animals that leave jungles and come to habitation areas to relocate them back to jungles. I request people wherever they spot these animals. We handed over this leopard to wildlife authorities.’
