19-year-old knitwear unit employee hangs self
Jan 3, 2019, 00:16 ISTTirupur: A 19-year-old man employed in a knitwear unit at Mumoorthi Nagar near Boyampalayam here committed suicide on Wednesday.
Y Muthu of Thirumanacheri in Nagapattinam had arrived in the dollar city a month ago, police sources said. “He had returned to the room, provided by the unit, on Wednesday evening after work. After his room mate left the place, Muthu hanged himself,” a police officer said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the young man had talked to his father over phone just before taking the drastic step.
The body was sent to Tirupur Government Hospital. Anupparpalayam police have registered a case.
