A man has been taken to hospital after being "hit" by a cow in south Queensland, paramedics say.

The man suffered head injuries after being hit by a cow and a gate at a property in Wainui, near Dalby.

Paramedics were called to the property on the Warrego Highway just before 2pm on Wednesday.

A spokeswoman said the man was taken to Dalby Hospital in a stable condition.

A similar accident happened at a property near Bundaberg in June, when a 59-year-old man was crushed against a fence by a rogue cow.
