16-yr-old girl blackmailed and molested, another minor groped
tnn | Jan 3, 2019, 05:11 ISTNagpur: Two cases of molestation of minors were reported on Tuesday at different police stations in the city. In both cases cops have registered a case of molestation under sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO).
In the first incident, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly blackmailed by a 20-year-old unidentified miscreant, who also molested the survivor between December 9 and December 31. The accused had blackmailed the survivor and demanded Rs10,000. He had threatened to make public photos that showed her talking to another boy.
Under pressure, the survivor had given two mangalsutras of her mother to the accused along with Rs500 cash. According to the cops, the survivor, a student of Std VIII, was being followed by the accused every time she went to school in Dhantoli. The accused one day showed the survivor a picture of her talking to another boy.
The accused threatened to show the pictures to the survivor’s parents, if she failed to give him money. The frightened survivor gave Rs500 to the accused but he kept demanding more money. The survivor then gave her mother’s two mangalsutras to the accused.
The incident came to light when the survivor narrated her ordeal to her parents, who took her to Dhantoli police station and filed a complaint against the accused.
In another incident, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her neighbour who took her with him on the pretext of taking her to the fair on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Abhimanyu Gorkhed, 20, had taken the survivor to a ground and tried to force himself upon her.
The survivor fled the spot and approached Kalamna police station and filed a complaint of molestation.
