
Anurag Kashyap pens down 2018 films that made him 'jealous'
There is no denying that 2018 was loaded with content-driven cinema and a number of great performances. From small budget films like Raazi to biopic like Sanju, the gone by year witnessed a variety of cinema and viewers lauded everything that made them think. Among the slew of best and worst film lists of 2018, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has also come up with his own listing of movies which left him feeling jealous.
Talking to his Twitter, Anurag Kashyap said, "My list is a jealous filmmaker list and it's because there is something in them, or them as a whole that makes me rethink, gives me courage, has overwhelmed me and made me ask myself, 'why didn't I see it that way'." In another tweet he stated his list which involved Bollywood films like Mulk, Badhaai Ho, Manto, AndhaDhun, Tumbbad, Mard ko Dard Nahin Hota, Soni, Omerta, Pataakha and October.

The filmmaker, who is known for making extra-ordinary films himself, praised his colleagues and other filmmakers for bringing out films that changed the aspect of film-making and made 2018 the most memorable year. However, soon after he tweeted, his industry colleagues reacted to his list. While Hansal Mehta asked if Anurag Kashyap plans to make him cry, Ram Gopal Varma pointed out that Kashyap has spoken like a true filmmaker and more so, a true film lover.

Anubhav Sinha, who directed Mulk, thanked Kashyap and added that he has made everyone “jealous” for so many years that it's time for him to feel the jealousy.
Talking about Anurag Kashyap, the film went decently well for the filmmaker as his last directorial project was Manmarziyaan, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, which not only emerged as a hit at the box office but also premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Anurag also directed Sacred Games, featuring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, which became a rage among the audience.
