One more judge of the Gujarat High Court, Justice AP Thaker recused himself from hearing the bail petition filed by hit-and-run case convict, Vismay Shah in a prohibition case on Tuesday.
"The court has perused the matter. Let the matters receive consideration from any other bench. Not before this court," justice Thaker said. The petition is now expected to come up for hearing before another bench on Friday.
The development came a day after justice, Umesh Trivedi recused himself from the bail plea hearing.
Vismay and his wife were among the six people arrested by Gandhinagar police while they were having a liquor party at a farmhouse last Wednesday. The accused were denied bail by a court in Gandhinagar, which sent them to judicial custody.
Vismay was sentenced to five years' imprisonment by a sessions court in 2015 in a hit-and-run case of 2013 in which two people had lost their lives. He was granted bail by Supreme Court in August 2015 after spending over a year in jail.
