People will never forgive Pinarayi, says Chennithala
tnn | Jan 2, 2019, 23:16 ISTThiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said Pinarayi Vijayan’s adamance led to women entry into Sabarimala. “The CM who was hell bent on defying the rituals and beliefs of Sabarimala has hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees,” said Ramesh.
The state and its people will not forgive Pinarayi Vijayan for this, he said.
“It is an injustice and insult to Ayyappa devotees. The chief minister and his police have helped two activists who are not even devotees enter the hill shrine,” said the opposition leader.
He alleged that CM and few police officers had hatched a conspiracy to facilitate women entry.
These two women had come to Sabarimala earlier and had to return without entering the shrine. After this they were under the police protection.
The police brought them to Sabarimala without ‘irumudikettu’. It happened the very next day after the Women’s Wall event.
The Wall itself was organized to defy the rituals and beliefs of Sabarimala, he added.
Ramesh Chennithala also lauded the Sabarimala thanthri for closing the temple and conducting ‘purification’ rituals. The government and Travancore Devaswom Board have no authority to blame thanthri.
