PUNE: To aid the flood-affected population of Kerala and to give the funds collected to Kerala, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has organised a rehabilitation camp for National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers in collaboration with NSS volunteers in Kerala.

The colleges have been told to send names of their volunteers to SPPU by January 3.

According to the notice released by SPPU, the university, on orders from Vice-Chancellor Nitin Karmalkar, is creating a central system of aid and rehabilitation for those affected by the devastating floods in Kerala from a couple of months ago.

The plan for taking the funds and the things collected for donation by different colleges to Kerala has already been prepared by NSS, and for its implementation, a rehabilitation camp for 10 to 15 NSS volunteers will be conducted.

The volunteers will be selected on the first-come-first-served basis, with emphasis on the physical fitness of the applicants. The camp will possibly be held in the third or fourth week of January.
